Overview
The 6-day wild tour takes you to Akagera national park, the only savannah park in Rwanda for ultimate wildlife experiences. The park covers an area of about 2500km it is a hearthstone to big mammals like lions, African bush elephants, cape buffaloes, giraffes and hippos that will offer you picturesque moments during the game drives, boat cruises among others in the park. Besides, you will have a city tour and encounter with the gentle giants through gorilla trekking at Volcanoes national park as detailed beneath.

Detailed Itinerary
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our driver guide from Shoebill Uganda Tours who will welcome you and then give you a short briefing about the tour. Later, you will be transferred to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 2: Kigali city tour and transfer to Akagera National park.
After breakfast from your booked lodge, prepare for a short city tour around Kigali where you will visit the cultural and historical sites like Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, museum among others. After the tour, have lunch within the city and later embark on a 2-3 hours transfer drive to Akagera National park. Check in at the booked accommodation facility, have dinner and a night’s rest.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema.
Following your morning breakfast, have a game drive through the park for about 4 hours. Along the drive, expect to see big wildlife species like buffaloes, rhinos, elephants, lions among others like zebras and hyenas. Return to the lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon embark on a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. Expect to see water and land animals like elephants, buffaloes on the shores of the lake. Transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Morning game drive and transfer to Volcanoes National park.
After grabbing breakfast, have a morning game drive in the park where you will fortunately sight wild game as they return to their den. With en-route lunch, you will then transfer to Volcanoes national park in the North of Rwanda through Kigali city. This will take you about 4-5 hours to reach the park. On arrival at the park, check in at the booked lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking.
Following your breakfast from the lodge, you will be picked up and transferred to the park headquarters at Kinigi for a short briefing. Before the beginning of the trek, you will be registered and given a gorilla family to trek in groups of 8 together with your permit at 1500 USD. You will then be led to the jungle and commence the search for gorillas for an unknown time because the gorilla movement is unpredictable. However, you will be allowed to stay with the found gorilla for 1hour and take pictures. Later, walk back to Kinigi and meet the guide for a transfer back to the lodge. Have dinner and rest.
Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali.
On the last day of the trip, you will have breakfast and then prepare for a transfer to Kigali International Airport for a departure flight marking the end of the tour.
