Overview
This is indeed a wonderous trip that takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, formerly known as Kazinga Channel national park to experience the medley of wonders for 4 days. The park is located in Western Uganda in the districts of Kamwenge, Kasese and Rukungiri. Being the only destination for lion trekking makes the park a unique sport for wildlife adventures with other activities like a boat cruise on Kazinga channel, chimpanzee trekking, game drives, filming and photography as the park is endowed with 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species. All these activities sum up to give you a satisfying visit to the park.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up, transfer to the park and evening game drive.
Having grabbed a morning breakfast from your hotel in Kampala, you meet up with our experienced driver guide from Shoebill Tours Uganda who will enlighten you briefly about the trip to have the most out of it. Start the engine for a 6-7 hour drive heading to Queen Elizabeth national park with a stopover at the Equator for relaxation and photography and en-route lunch. On arrival at the park, you will have an evening game drive around the park with scenic views of different bird species, wildgame like elephants and landscapes. Check-in at the booked hotel for dinner and overnight stay for the entire trip.

Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Lion trekking and an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel.
After an early morning breakfast, you will be transferred by your driver to the Ishasha sector, South of Mweya in the park. At this juncture, you will be able to trek the tree-climbing lions and also watch them locate their prey as they come down the trees. Have en route lunch and proceed to Kazinga Channel for an evening boat cruise. During the cruise, expect to see the park’s major wildlife ventures like hippos taking their dips in the water, crocodiles basking on the water banks. Return to the lodge for dinner and retire for a night.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and evening game drive.
Wake up early enough to have your breakfast and transfer to the valley of Apes, Kyambura Gorge in the North of the park. Commence trekking of the habituated chimpanzee at 8:00 am after a simple briefing and registration. Besides the chimps, expect to see other primates like Black and White Colobus monkeys, baboons among others. Return to the lodge for lunch and prepare for an evening game drive around the park. Expect to see lions preying on antelopes, elephants skillfully using their trunks to feed among others. Have dinner and overnight rest.
Day 4: Filming and photography, set off back to Kampala.
On the final day of the trip, you will carry out filming and photography after breakfast. This will be done at the Queen’s Pavilion established in 1959 when the Queen of England visited the park. Besides, pictures of the landscape, wildlife can be taken. After 2 hours of the activity, embark on a journey back to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator.
